jio 6g launch date in india
Jio will be among world’s first to develop 6G capabilities, says Mukesh Ambani .
6G is still mostly under development. However, over the next 5–8 years, 6G deployment will happen in most countries, including India. As per this below recent article which came in October 2023 in economic times, rollout is expected in India around 2030.
What 6G will enable :-
6G will facilitate seamless interactions between:
- The human world: includes people and their devices (phones, wearables, XR devices).
- The physical world: things like machines, vehicles, sensors, and more.
- The digital world: includes the Metaverse, which is a digital twin of the human and physical worlds.
How it will work :-
JPL is developing technology enablers that will empower these three worlds to communicate. These enablers will build the foundations of 6G. They include:
- New waveforms and multiple access schemes
- Ultra-massive MIMO and distributed MIMO
- Terahertz communication
- AI-native air interface
- Full duplex and Integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB)
- Intelligent reflecting surfaces
- Orbital angular momentum
- Holographic beamforming
- Joint communications and sensing
- Blockchain and quantum cryptography
- Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) and energy-neutral devices
Evangelizing a pre-standards 6G Core :-
- The 6G Core must support exceedingly dense telecom networks given the high frequency bands the network will use. Moreover, 6G must be backward compatible with 5G and 4G. JPL is therefore working on evolving the core network so that all the telecom generations – 4G, 5G, and 6G – can interwork.
- JPL’s product roadmaps are already aligned to 3GPP Release 17 and 18. It is an active member contributing to ETSI standards for upcoming releases. JPL is proactively investing in key research areas and is working on creating IPRs related to 6G network implementation.
